Ad Cost Benchmarks by Industry in India (2026)
Cost per click is not one number. We publish a benchmark matrix across platform, industry and Indian city — with the source and refresh date attached to every figure, and empty cells left empty.
Last reviewed
Most cost-per-click advice online collapses into a single number that is wrong for everyone. A clinic in Koramangala and a coaching institute in Secunderabad do not bid against the same advertisers, so a blended India average tells neither of them what to budget. The useful question is narrower and harder: what does a click actually cost in my industry, in my city, on the platform I am considering?
Why published cost guides are not enough
There is no shortage of CPC ranges on the internet. The problem is provenance. A figure with no source and no date cannot be checked, cannot be re-verified next quarter, and cannot be distinguished from a guess dressed up as data. That matters more than it used to: AI answer engines quote numbers, and they quote the ones that carry a checkable origin. An unsourced benchmark does not just fail to help, it actively misleads the thing reading it.
What we publish, and what we refuse to publish
ADZBE runs an advertising benchmark matrix across three dimensions: platform, industry and city. Every figure in it carries a source, the date it was measured, and a declared refresh cycle. Where no measured data exists for a combination, the cell reads as not measured. We do not fill gaps by borrowing a neighbouring city's figure or averaging two verticals into a plausible-sounding third.
- Google Search CPC in Bengaluru runs ₹15–₹60; in Hyderabad, ₹12–₹50.
- Meta feed CPC runs ₹1.5–₹8 in Bengaluru and ₹1–₹7 in Hyderabad.
- LinkedIn CPC sits at ₹50–₹300 in both cities, because its auction is driven by company size and job title rather than geography.
- A Google campaign typically needs ₹40,000–₹1,00,000 a month in Bengaluru to gather enough signal to optimise, against ₹35,000–₹90,000 in Hyderabad.
A cheaper click does not mean a cheaper lead
This is the most expensive misunderstanding in Indian paid search, so it is worth stating plainly. Hyderabad's auctions are less contested than Bengaluru's, and a click costs about 20% less there on Search. But absolute search volume is lower too, so clicks per rupee drop alongside cost. Budget moved from a Bengaluru campaign to a Hyderabad campaign on the strength of CPC alone routinely produces a worse cost per lead, not a better one.
Run one campaign per city
This is the other structural mistake we see most often. Pooling Bengaluru and Hyderabad into a single campaign forces Google's bidding to split budget toward whichever city is cheaper and lower-volume — which is precisely not the city you wanted to grow. Separate campaigns per city cost more to manage and give you two clean sets of data instead of one blended average you cannot act on. The full comparison is on our Bengaluru vs Hyderabad ad spend benchmark.
How we keep the numbers current
Each benchmark source declares its own refresh cadence, and the site computes staleness from that rather than from a single global rule. Weekly and monthly feeds are re-pulled on their cycle, quarterly benchmark surveys are re-surveyed quarterly, and annual reports stay annual. Anything that has run past two intervals is flagged as overdue on the page instead of being presented as current.
- Weekly — fast-moving auction and feed prices.
- Monthly — platform pricing changes and delivery data.
- Quarterly — the published benchmark surveys behind the CPC and CPM ranges on our cost pages.
- Yearly — annual industry reports, where quarterly movement would be noise.
Where this is still incomplete
Coverage today is partial, and the dataset says so on its face rather than rounding up. We hold published city-level benchmarks for Google, Meta and LinkedIn in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Industry-specific readings — the same vertical measured properly rather than inferred — are the gap, and they are the part that takes real measurement to close. We would rather show you an honest 1% coverage figure than a padded table of numbers nobody could check.
Where to read the numbers
The full matrix, with per-figure provenance and refresh dates, is on our industry benchmarks dataset. The channel-by-channel detail lives on the ad spend benchmark for Bengaluru vs Hyderabad and in our Google Ads cost guides. If you want the structured feed for planning or reporting, ask us for it and we will share the schema and the refresh cycle that suits you.
